Swing voters are the last people a campaign thinks of.
They first are thinking about their typical republican or democratic voters to come out and vote. If you can't appeal to the base then you will have a problem (McCain)

Where does a candidate start?- HE STARTS AT HIS OR HER BASE and then tries to grow out from there. (McCain's problem, how do you grow from the middle?
