Front (Question)

What affects turnout

Back (Answer)

What affects voter turnout
- Blowout elections / lack of competition
- Extension of the voting age to 18
- More voter mobility
- Disenfranchisement / enfranchisement
- Strength of parties
- Party contacts

When voter turnout is large - it benefits the democrats
- Because large amount of low socioeconomic status' voters, high turnout signals that this group has disproportionably increased their participation
- Probably signals democrats have footed the cost of getting these people out to vote

Why don't democrats try and mobilize low-income voters?
- Because then they have to cater to their interests.
